'I had no choice': Manchester United's Ten Hag defends substitutions after Sevilla fightback – video

The Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, said he felt he had no option but to make several second-half substitutions in Manchester United's 2-2 Europa League draw against Sevilla.

Ten Hag made three changes on 62 minutes, introducing Wout Weghorst, Christian Eriksen and Anthony Elanga for Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes, and Jadon Sancho, before taking Antony off for Facundo Pellistri on 81 minutes. Harry Maguire had replaced the injured Raphael Varane on 46 minutes.

"There was no other way ... I had to make the subs. I had no other choice," Ten Hag said, adding that his side had created chances to score a third goal.
