Leeds United criticised for tweet mocking Amazon pundit Karen Carney

Leeds United have doubled down on an official club tweet that led to a pile-on against former England women’s international Karen Carney – with the chairman, Andrea Radrizzani, rejecting suggestions that the club should be “ashamed” of their actions.

Carney, who won 144 caps for her country, had suggested that Leeds’ promotion bid had benefited from the coronavirus break in March and they “might blow up at the end of season” during Amazon Prime Sport’s coverage of the club’s 5-0 victory over West Brom.
