Premier League to start on 12 September but break for players remains an issue

  • League announces campaign will end on 23 May
  • Restart is three weeks after European finals

The Premier League has confirmed the start date for next season but has yet to resolve when some of its players will get a break.

The 2020-21 campaign will begin, as widely predicted, on 12 September and is scheduled to end on 23 May. That start date, however, comes only three weeks after the Champions League and Europa League finals, both of which could feature English teams.
