Ipswich Town appoint Paul Hurst as new manager on three-year contract

• 43-year-old leaves Shrewsbury and thanks League One club
• Shrews chairman had accused Ipswich of an ‘illegal approach’

Ipswich have confirmed the appointment of Paul Hurst as their new manager in place of the departed Mick McCarthy.

Hurst has left Shrewsbury Town, whom he guided to the League One play-off final after achieving their highest league position in 27 years.
