Chris Coleman sacked as manager of Sunderland after club’s relegation

• Sunderland relegated to League One after defeat to Burton Albion
• Coleman and assistant Kit Symons sacked by club

Chris Coleman has been sacked as manager of Sunderland, the Championship club have announced.

Sunderland were relegated to League One, having been relegated from the Premier League last season, last Saturday and hired Coleman and his assistant Kit Symons – who has also now left the club – last summer.
