If Mo Marley is not to be England Women’s next permanent head coach, she will be leaving them in fine fettle for her successor after Steph Houghton’s two goals set up an impressive victory.

The interim head coach has said she wishes to take stock after her third game in temporary charge, in the next 2019 World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan at Colchester next Tuesday, but if she returns to her role with the development sides, hers will be a job well done at this rate.
